Mentoring Young Mothers for Sustainable Victorious Parenting
HISTORY
In 2014, after about 15 years of meeting on Wednesday morning with Teens that chose life for their babies, it was apparent that these girls needed more than Wednesday morning meetings could provide. God brought together a small group of people that purposed to obtain a home for these teens.
In February 2015 we became a public charity under section 501 (c)(3) of the federal tax code.
December of 2016 we were blessed with our first home.
In 2018 we partnered with a local church to open our second home.
MISSION
To provide underprivileged young mothers with housing, and to mentor transformation driven young women through a Biblical model for sustainable victorious parenting.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe: “All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching the truth, rebuking error, correcting faults, and giving instruction in right living.” 2 Timothy 3:16
All human life is sacred including the life of unborn babies – based on Psalms 139: 13-16. This statement of faith does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs.
For purposes of The Lighthouse For Teen Mothers’ faith practices and policy, our Board of Directors is the final interpretive authority on the meaning and application of this statement.
PROGRAM
We are a home based on Biblical Principles offering shelter to teen mothers, ages 13-19. We provide healthy meals, prenatal care and assist in getting a High School diploma or GED. There are classes in parenting, adoption, childbirth, budgeting, and building healthy relationships. There are life skill classes in household management, employment skills and personal goal setting.
We are currently accepting applications from teen moms who need a home.
